Thanks for visiting my site ! My name is Clarinda Brueck and I am CMB Fitness. The main goal of this site is to educate with a fun " do it yourself " approach. I believe that you can do anything if you have the desire and motivation to achieve it. Remember, there are barriers in life only if you create them for yourself.
I am a teacher with a Masters Degree in Physical Education as well as an accomplished athlete. Over twenty years of competition have brought me finishes at the New York Marathon, New Jersey Waterfront Marathon, and Las Vegas International Marathon. I competed for sixteen years as a semiprofessional triathlete receiving many accolades. Most notable are my 1997 and 1998 finishes at the Ironman World Championship Triathlon in Kona, Hawaii, becoming the first female upper extremity amputee to finish in official time. I am also a two time International Triathlon Union Physically Challenged World Champion. In 1996 I created the Physically Challenged Division in the sport of Triathlon, whereas disabled athletes compete side by side with all able bodied athletes; amateurs as well as professionals.
In 1996 and 2002, I was honored to carry the Olympic Torch in the state of New Jersey. I have written articles and research that has been published nationally and internationally.
I have received other awards which include : The Judy Flannery Memorial Award given by USA Triathlon, The Henry H. Kessler Human Dignity Award, The Gene Autry Courage Award, The Time Warners Cable Star Teacher Award and Who's Who in American Teachers.
